Setting new standards: filling the gap in humanoid robot cabling solutions

In the first half of 2026, China achieved a milestone breakthrough in the standardization of humanoid robot cables, bringing an end to the long-standing lack of unified technical specifications in the industry.

Global First Industry Standard Released

In March 2026, the world's first group standard for humanoid robot cables was officially released, led by the Shenzhen Robotics Special Cable Industry Association and jointly developed by 57 key enterprises. The standard sets specific requirements for materials, structures, and performance testing of humanoid robot-specific cables, driving the industry from a "anyone-can-produce" stage into a new era where "compliance defines competitiveness."

Embodied AI Cable Harness Standard Introduced

On April 1, the Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Association officially implemented the group standard titled "Technical Requirements for Cable Harness Components in Embodied Intelligent Robots."
Targeting the challenges of high-frequency and multi-dimensional joint motion in robots, the standard introduces stringent requirements including microsecond-level intermittent fault detection and millions of dynamic bending cycle tests, establishing a practical and application-oriented technical benchmark for the underlying hardware supply chain.

Internationally Recognized Testing System Established

The industry association is also collaborating with TÜV Rheinland, which has nearly 20 years of experience in cable testing and certification, to build an internationally recognized testing system. This initiative is designed to support Chinese cable products in expanding into global markets.
